The main aim of the MOOC is to help understand specific features of the recent waves of globalization and/or slowbalization (or deglobalization) as well as the role of fragmentation of production.
Furthermore, it investingates the relationships between the development of Global Value Chains and Climate change. The final part will describe possible policy implications.

The training path is organized into 1 Module, consisting of 6 Units.

The estimated completion time for each Unit is approximately 1 hour and includes:

  • video lectures;
  • in-depth textual or interactive learning materials;
  • self-assessment quizzes.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply theoretical and empirical tools to analyze key issues in international economics, including globalization, global value chains, trade, and the relationship between manufacturing and services.
They will also develop a better understanding of how institutions, culture, and geopolitical changes affect international specialization and global production, while developing an interest in reading economics-related news and understanding the evolving geopolitical influences on the fragmentation of production.
